Graphics Final

For my final I needed 100 more points for my fourth marking period grade. So I decided for my final that I would make another version of a soccer player but this time I made a goalie diving. I used the same ray of lights to add to the effect of the goalie diving.

The actual design was simple. I made the entire picture black and white then I re-colored the goalie with the History Brush tool. I then added some rays around my soccer goalie diving towards the ball to add a dramatic effect. You can see how to do this here. Lastly I added the words "Reach for you Goals". The play on words works great so I crossed the "Goals" out with red marks because the goalie is blocking the ball from going into the net. This is my final project and I had a great year in Graphics Design.

Art Deco Poster

I started my Art Deco poster by thinking about the places that I would personally like to visit. Brazil is a beautiful country so I decided to make it my travel poster.

This picture is good for my project because it is a great landscape photo and most people if not all can easily recognize this as being Brazil.

My first tutorial was on how to make the photo look more like a painting. This was essential for my project because art deco posters look like soft paintings. I found a great tutorial here.

I wanted to add something creative for the name of the poster and thats exactly what I did. I got a good font and added the Brazilian flag behind it. The tutorial was also very helpful and I got a good result. From the tutorial I made this City poster.

You can see the full tutorial here. When I did This process to my font and added the Brazil flag i got this result.

When I had this process complete all I needed to do was put both of my creations together.

This is what my final project came out to look like. This is my art deco poster. Travel to Brazil.

Fantasy Scene Poster

I started my process by first thinking and sketching what I would like to do for my project. Since I enjoy playing soccer, I decided to start planning with a soccer player. I added a fantasy aspect to my soccer player by adding smokey rays around the player and the soccer ball. To finalize, I added the wings to the soccer player.

Once my sketch and thoughts were all planed out, I started gathering tutorials that would help me throughout my project.

I learned how to do the rays for my soccer player by using this tutorial here. It showed how to curve and bend the rays which was very helpful in creating the rays for my soccer player. My second tutorial showed me how to correctly position the wings on a woman. For my project, it helped me choose the right wings and placement for my soccer player. To get to this tutorial click here.

I began by choosing a large picture of a soccer player kicking a ball. This is the picture I initially started with.

I used the following picture for my wings.

When all my rays and the wings had been added to my soccer player, I proceeded by making the contrast a little lighter. My fantasy poster was complete and this is what i finally finished off with.

My Three Logos

This is my Initials logo. When I made this logo I wanted to reflect the J so it just look like an L on the other side. I shortened the both letters and extended them. Finally, I added a tip at the end to both letters.

I wanted to make my name logo a little goofy as I tried to adding some buck teeth. I created my own capital L by using a straight line on the side and a curved line on the bottom to add the effect of a smile. I created the eyes inside my o and p to finalize my smiley face.

This is my favorite logo as it incorporates two different aspects: letters and  pictures. I made this symbol logo by making two big capital letters that are just outlined. Then I got two pictures of how you make the letters in sign language.
